I'm Laura Abell, a Baltimore, MD based professional organizer and I am convinced that order brings PEACE.
As a stay-at-home mom raising four children (now grown), I discovered lots of strategies and techniques for keeping our home, schedules and paperwork organized. Through that experience, I realized that solving problems and thinking of creative ways to maximize space is a way of using my gifts and talents to benefit others. One of my greatest satisfactions is serving others as I help to organize and simplify their homes and workspaces to be more efficient. Our homes don't need to be perfect, but we do need to have a place for everything and be able to find and enjoy the things we need and love. I'm very resourceful, and love creating beautiful and useful spaces. I also enjoy transferring my organizational skills to my clients so that they can maintain everything after I leave.
Majoring in psychology and sociology at Vanderbilt University gave me insight into the emotional attachments we can have with our possessions and why letting go of them can be so difficult. My interest in this piece of the human nature puzzle has been invaluable in my personal and professional life. Our memories can influence our ability to move forward in life--not just in the way we think and feel but in the way we identify our needs, spend money, and hold onto belongings even though we no longer need or use them.
I am a proud member of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals. You can also find me on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
